You are invited to participate in A Day in the Village to be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009 in Clemmons, NC
Booth space applications will be accepted in several areas:
Original work in the following categories will be eligible: photography, graphics, wood, clay, pastels, fiber, mixed media, painting, glass, stone, metal.
Original Country Crafts that are handmade and not created from commercially available kits are eligible.
Non Profit groups may apply for spaces at both festivals. Groups who participate must demonstrate an educational,scientific,charitable, visual or performing arts, literary or ENVIRONMENTAL purpose. Groups will be subject to selection by the LAAC as to suitability.
Art, Craft and Nonprofit Exhibits will be assigned a 10'x10'space to set up his display. All tents must be 10'x 10' or less and fire retardant. (All Easy-Up tents are OK. Please check other brands for fire retardant quality. It is not necessary to call the LAAC or the fire department about your tents. Please check the labels on your tents for necessary information and have it on hand if requested by authorities. If you no longer have the product information on your tents, call the store that carries the tent and ask for the information.The LAAC does not provide tables, tents, chairs, electricity or help with set up or operation of booths. Please watch your merchandise and valuables.
Set up will be allowed on two dates - the day preceding the event and the morning of the event. Set up details will be mailed with your information.
The official fund raisers for the festivals are: screened T-shirts and soft drinks. NO DRINK or printed T - SHIRT SALES will be allowed by anyone other than the LAAC. Failure to comply with this rule will result in participant being asked to remove the said items or vacate.
Booth assignments will be filled on a first come first served basis! Your information will be mailed to you approximately one week prior to the beginning of the events. Last minute registrations will be available for pick up during the set up hours as stated in the set up information. Please enclose a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope with your application. We can't acknowledge your registration unless you include a SAS postcard for confirmation.
The LAAC will select an art/craft, country craft, non profit and business area.
POSTMARKED by May 30 receive the Participation refunds will be given after 5:00 PM on the day of the event and ONLY for participants who are set up for the complete hours of the event (11 - 5 PM)Last minute entries - the last week before the event and up to Thursday, June 4 will be $75 with no refund at the completion of the event.
Booths will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Everyone needs to take the same risks due to weather etc. The LAAC must pay the bills regardless of the weather. Last minute sign-ups cause a lot of unnecessary work as well as making things hard on an all volunteer staff. We have been asked NOT to accept LAST MINUTE applications - money - booth assignments - etc. IF you are NOT registered in advance of the festival PLEASE do not expect to show up with money in hand. We love our volunteers and want them to enjoy working at the festival!
