Marilyn Ingram

Marilyn is a native North Carolinian who studied at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, majoring in studio art. She has also completed years of workshops in the book arts, calligraphic hands, watercolour technique, embossing and gilding under the direction of several master craftsmen including scribe Peter Thornton of Litchfield England and Chris Yarborough, who was a well respected craftsman and bookbinder, among others.

Marilyn is singer/songwriter for the folk/pop acoustical group, AURA, contributing lead, harmony and back up vocals as well as the majority of the small percussion. She has been in vocal groups and bands all her life, the daughter of a respected and classically trained baritone soloist. Marilyn and the ladies of AURA have also had the honor of being on the same stage with Peter Tork (the Monkees) and James Lee Stanley, performing backup and harmony vocals during several of the men's solo and duo performances beginning in 1998.


Marilyn's songs have been contributed to the CD entitled "Dodi & Co" published under the group's former name.

LAAC MAGAZINE video - Marilyn (and the ladies of AURA) also appeared in a video which Marilyn edited for a cable TV station. "LAAC MAGAZINE" (with Dodi & Co.) is a 30 minute program featuring live footage from the ladies performance at Music in the Park in Lewisville as well as two music videos (Moth to the Flame and Let Me Be Your Angel) The musical prelude and theme song for the program is none other than the Bach Two Part Invention as performed by Peter Tork himself. Creative Artist Series presents: An evening of AURA - This hour special was filmed in December 2001 and features an acoustic set of original material by the members of Aura.
