The public is invited to participate in the 15th annual Lewisville Lawn Party Parade to be held on Sat., August 29, 2005 beginning at 11:30 AM on Shallowford Road in Lewisville, NC.
Parade applications are being sought in several areas:
The LAAC encourages event sponsors to create a float or other unit into the parade. This is one of the best ways to promote your sponsorship of the event for maximum exposure during the day of the event.
Marching bands, performing groups, dance troups and other art related organizations are encouraged to participate in the parade. Please let us know the details of your groups so we can best place you in the parade, ie:
How many people are there in your group?
Will there be live or canned music accompanying your group?
Antique cars clubs are most welcome in the parade. Since we have an enviromental and recycling theme, we love old cars, trucks and other vehicles!
If you are having a dignitary or rider in the car, let us know. We cannot however have any pageant winners or other "crowned" ladies in our parade as Miss Lewisville Lawn Party is the "STAR" of the show! Thanks!
We love horses and hope to see some in this year's parade - but due to the "enviromentally friendly" contibutions horses sometimes make to the streets - hehe - we will save them for the rear of the parade (BUT BEFORE the final parade entry which is the Lawn Party Queen.) You could also "bag" your horses so they can be closer to the front of the parade.
The following corporations are SPONSORS for the Lawn Party. Only these corporations may participate in the Lawn Party Parade for the TYPE of BUSINESS that they represent. Example: if "ACMEballoons" is a balloon sponsor, it might not be a good idea to have "AJAXbaloons" in the parade - make sense?
2004 Sponsors with 1st rights of refusal include: Time Warner Cable, Truliant Federal Credit Union, Super 8 Motel, Lewisville Electric, Cheerwine, Century Wood Floors, Costco, Duke Power Company, The Lewisville Business & Professional Association, Salem Neurological Center, The Villager Voice, Beneficial Skinworks, The Village of Clemmons, NC
Line up will start at 10:30 AM in the Roller Mill area on Shallowford Road. The Parade Chair is the diva in charge at that end of the street - so look for her in LAAC gear and with a notebook in her hand! The LLP parade is a FUN parade - so think of your best ideas to go along with the day!
OK - don't laugh - Lawn Mowers - for the Lawn Party Parade - so if YOU can think of another thing that ties in with Parties on the Lawn - let us know! Really!
The LAAC will vote on most creative parade entry and best use of recycled material parade entry for 2005 and award placques to the winners.
Type in then prrint out this page. Send the registration portion along with your contact information (organization, contact person, address, mailing address, phone number, e-mail) to: LAAC - PO Box 472 - Lewisville, NC 27023 - BY August 20, 2005.
IF you have a product that you think we might need - OR - will supply a SERVICE or VOLUNTEERS for our booths - let us know - we might make a trade for sponsorship - MAYBE!
