MAY '99 - The LAAC just completed TORKfest 2000 and Lewisville Lawn Party 2000. The concert at Brew Ha Ha's in W-S was a fabulous concert featuring Peter Tork, James Lee Stanley, Dodi & Co. and Blues-A-Matic. Peter and James sat in with all the bands playing during the evening and a great time was had by all. Concert footage will be made available by the LAAC in the summer of 2000. (There were also some videos shot by a few of the fans)
Unfortunately Peter and James's performances at the annual Lawn Party were rained out. The guys came back on Sunday afternoon and did a two hour unplugged concert for all the die-hard fans. There are several video tapes of this concert and hopefully those will be made available in the near future. The performances by ALL the other bands (My Cousin Walt, The Smyle Band, Finnegan's Gait, Random Tuesday, Nervous Nellie, Mamasays, Jamie Myiares, The Small Town Country Dancers and The W-S Community Band) were finished by the time the rain began. Only Finnegan's Gait's set was shortened. Unfortunately The Suitz, a GREAT Classic Rock and Roll band, performance also had to be cancelled.

December '99 - Hope you made it to the annual Lewisville Christmas Parade on December 12th. Miss Lewisville Lawn Party 1999, Megan Ingram was escorted by NewsChannel12's own Austin Caviness. Austin and Megan rode in a horse drawn carriage pulled by the fearless "Nick" from Flynt Hill Buggies. They had a wonderful time wishing everyone Merry Christmas as they rode through the streets of Lewisville. Queen's Court Member, Gia Myers also rode in the parade and helped to hand out the LAAC's "Guide to 2000 Programs and Events" brochure. If you did not get a brochure and would like one, please send a legal SASE to the LAAC PO Box. The parade was wonderful, complete with cold but sunny weather. Thank-you to the thousands of smiling faces that we saw along the parade route. Lewisville is indeed a wonderful place to be.
The LAAC would like to thank the volunteers who helped us out on nine consecutive Wednesdays at TANGLEWOOD Lights in Clemmons. Volunteers worked from 5:30 until 11:00 PM collecting entry fees, directing traffic at two locations and handing out brochures. The weather ranged from below freezing to the mild 60's on most nights with between 300 to 1,500 cars, busses and vans processed per night. The LAAC's volunteers did a wonderful job and as always had a great time working together. Thank you my friends, you are the best!
