Clemmons' renewed festival and second annual, "A Day in the Village", will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008 from 10 AM until 5 PM at the new Village Green adjacent to Clemmons Elementary School.

A Day in the Village Press Release:
A Day in the Village will be held in Clemmons on Saturday, October 18 at The Village Green. The event will offer popular festival activities and will showcase the "Merchants of Clemmonsville," as a nod to the Clemmons' historical roots and in honor of her founder, Peter Clemmons, merchant of Clemmonsville. Vendors are being encouraged to participate in what is sure to become a favorite annual event.
If you are a vendor who signed up to participate in the 2008 event get in touch with us via e-mail: LAAC27023@aol.com. Those who stayed until 6 PM in '07 have a space in the '08 festival without further contribution. Entertainers and vendors who wish to participate in "The Merchants of Clemmonsville" are currently being sought.
Those wishing to support the village green can make donations directly to The Forsyth County Broncos at their booth on the day of the event. 100% of the donations collected at the Broncos booth, will go towards The Village Green.
FUN WALKS / RUNS
during the day will include:
The It takes a VILLAGE to support the ARTS fun walk/run will begin at 1 PM during the festival. This race will benefit the event to insure it continues ! ! ! Walkers can purchase the t-shirt which is the support fee for the walk at the event. T-shirts are $20 each and have the "A Day in the Village" LOGO on the front and walk sponsors on the back! Support "A Day in the Village!" 100 % of the proceeds will go to continue the event in Clemmons, NC.
Merlin's Walk Merlin the black lab will lead the walk for his four footed friends who do not have a home of their own in support of the Forsyth County Humane Society. Merlin's Walk will begin at 2 PM. The support fee is a suggested minimum of $5. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Forsyth Co. Humane Society.
The "Margaret Weaver McGee Memorial Race/Walk" will be held at 3 PM and will benefit the Methodist Children's Home of which Mrs. McGee was an alumni. This event will be a race/walk as Mrs. McGee was a race/walker, among other sports in which she participated all her life. The suggested support fee is a minimum of $5. 100% proceeds will go to the Children's Home.
The walker raising the largest donation towards each individual walk will receive a package of sponsor goodies and be recognized following the completion of the walks.
A warm up for walkers will begin at 12:30, immediately prior to the start of the first walk at 1 PM.
For bluegrass lovers and players, there will be an open bluegrass jam on the festival grounds. All area bluegrass and old time players are cordially invited to join the jam, which will continue throughout the day. The jam will be unplugged. The public is invited to pull up a hay bale or bring a blanket.
A Day in the Village will also include visual art and craft displays from several of The LAAC Exhibiting Artists, local artisans, the merchants of Clemmonsville," non profit organization booths, food and musical and other entertainment.
A Day in the Village is free and open to the public. No coolers, alcohol or picnics may be brought into the festival area. Food and soft drinks will be available from the non profit organizations including the Forsyth County Broncos who will be celebrating "Broncos Day."
A Day in the Village is a presentation of The LAAC. We appreciate the cooperation of the Forsyth Co. Broncos and Clemmons Elementary School. Corporate sponsors are still being sought for the 2008 event.
